Wireless Capabilities

• BlueTooth

  BlueTooth is used primarily for relatively short range device-to-device communications. BlueTooth is often reffered to as Personal Area Network or PAN. This technology is most frequently used to connect a mobile terminal to a wireless printer.

• 802.11 Wireless

  802.11 wireless networking has gone through several revisions including a/b/g/n. 802.11b was the first popular standard operating as a maximum of 11 Mbps. 802.11b has since been entirely replaced with the faster 54 Mbps standard 802.11g.

• GSM/GPRS Cellular

  GSM/GPRS is the component of cellular service (GSM) that provides data connectivity (GPRS). This wireless technology allows a mobile terminal to communicate anywhere with cellular service.

• 433 Mhz Wireless

  This technology was used before the standardization of 802.11 wireless networking. For the most part this technology is no longer used; however, it is still used in environments where 802.11 has trouble due to interference from other 2.4 Ghz technologies.
