The CipherLab 8000 is the king of portable data collection terminals. This powerful pocket size portable data collector includes a barcode reader with a 24 key backlit rubber keyboard. It comes standard with 2MB data memory and 2MB of program flash memory. All CipherLab OS handhelds are programmable in "C", Basic or via an included Windows Application Generator software. More than 100 hours of operating time per charge. This handheld is simply the best terminal in its class.

Part Numbers

There are four major configurations of this handheld. These are the CipherLab 8000, CipherLab 8001, CipherLab 8061, and CipherLab 8071.

The CipherLab 8000 is the base model. The base model takes AA batteries and cannot be recharged.
The CipherLab 8001 is the most common model. The CipherLab 8001 has a built in Lithium Ion rechargeable battery.
The CipherLab 8061 is the same as the 8001, with the addition of BlueTooth wireless capabilities.
The CipherLab 8071 is the same as the 8001, with the addition of 802.11 wireless network capabilities.

Some people will add a single letter to the end of the model number to designate the scanner type. For example an 8001C has a CCD barcode scanner, while the 8001L has a laser barcode scanner.
