This scanner is available in two models the 1100 and 1105.
The 1100 series model is the high resolution scanner version. The 1105 is a lower cost, lower resolution version designed for retail use. Retail barcodes (UPCs) are usually at least 1" in width and do not require a high resolution scanner. On the other hand electronics are often barcoded with very small barcodes for their serial numbers and model numbers which require a higher resolution scan engine to pick up.
